We’re happy to be part of an amazing new store in Fort Collins called Edge Optics. Owners, Dr. Mason Bryant and his wife, Mindy Bryant, decided to keep it local. A lot of people give lip service to the importance of using local products and businesses, but very few actually practice what they preach.
When it comes right down to it, local is usually more expensive, especially when it comes to furniture. With stores like Ikea selling cheap furnishings of every shape and size, it’s often understandably tempting for small start-up businesses to fill their space with this affordable furniture that is manufactured overseas.
The Bryants, however, decided they wanted local beetle-kill wood furniture in their new store. It matched the personality of their products – chic, eco-friendly sports eyewear for the active Colorado lifestyle.
They found Ryan Schlaefer Fine Furniture by a brief online search and they were happy to discover he was located right down the road in Loveland. Thus, a beautiful collaboration was born.
Ryan designed and built five custom display cases, three pedestals, a console and a desk, to fill out the stylish store located at 706 S. College Ave. Suite 101 in Fort Collins.
Edge Optics has their Grand Opening this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22 and 23, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be raffles, giveaways and discounted eye exams.
We strongly believe this collaboration merits local media coverage. After all, Ryan Schlaefer Fine Furniture wasn’t the only local company used by Edge Optics, and we applaud their decision to keep it local.

I snapped this quick phone photo earlier this week while visiting Edge Optics. We plan to take some more high resolution photos of this entire project over the weekend.
