It’s the first week in November, and yesterday there was an election, but enough about that. The real news is that today is our founder’s birthday.
Yes, Ryan turns 40 today, and he’s in very good company. Copper Mountain, the Colorado ski resort is 40 this year, and Ryan should take heart in knowing that he’s in some very good looking company as well. A lot of celebrities hit this milestone in 2012, including Jennifer Garner, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Affleck, Sofia Vergara, Camera Diaz, Josh Duhamel, Alyssa Milano, Eminem, Jenny McCarthy, Jude Law and Dwayne Johnson.
Even more relevant to this website's blog is that the interior design trends of 1970s are back in style. That’s right, we googled it and although it may seem frightening at first, gold, orange and avocado are the colors of the season.
You have probably noticed that the fashions of the 2000s seem to be a recycling of everything old, except we don’t call it “old," we call it “retro.” Clothing styles from the 80s and early 90s are once again gracing the pages of Vogue magazine, even jelly shoes are back, something none of us every thought would return to the fashion world.
Thanks to shows like “Mad Men” we’ve watched as retro furniture has become a major trend. The mid-century has been hot with interior designers, but now the 70s are creeping back, just like the indoor plants that were so popular during the decade.
With everything old being new again, perhaps it was inevitable that 70s inspired interior design would rear its ostentatious head.
